Bad luck always happens.
It's a part of life, but you should study the map and see are you really at a disadvantage.

1v1 can be fluky, tho... yeah, there are times when the drop is ludicrously unbalanced, but the dice have a way of flattening things out sometimes... the problem is that, if you're on the wrong end of a drop, you're always three 0-2s away from having the game spin out of control...

I played a game on Europe and the other guy started off with Scandanavia and had the first turn - game was over in about 3 rounds. Then again, I've just had some good luck with a 1v1 - I won from going second and I couldn't believe it! I actually think I may have developed a reasonably successful for going second in 1v1s

i just played 1 and the guy was dealt africa and the first go, he then deployed all his armies on western australia and took 9 of my armies from there and only lost 1, i think i managed 3 rounds, he got a mixed set from his first 3 cards. wat an awesome game

ugh! I never play card games, especially in 2 player.
I played King of the Mountains the other day and the other player had control of Yellow Mountain and four of the five Kings on the drop, and he got to go first. Quickest 1v1 I've ever played.
