Cards sets [Answered]

There's something I don't quite get. After eliminating a player, and taking his cards, you can set cards once, even twice, as long as you have 5 cards or more. But if you have a total of 3 or 4 cards after eliminating a player, and are able to set them, why can't you?

You can't have more than 5 cards at the start of your turn, therefore it forces you to cash mid-turn if you have more.
There are loopholes and ways to start with more than 5, but I'll let you figure that out on your own.
