Is it just me, but are the times given for posting times, different to the time shown on the ticking CC time clock?

Shouldn't be, but the process the forum uses is different than the process the time widget produces, so it can read differently depending on your settings.

Make sure your time zone is set correctly in your Board Preferences. (http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/ucp.php?i=165) and also if your jurisdiction uses daylight time, make sure you have daylight time enabled there.

Different jurisdictions start daylight times on different days, and they're not always the same as what the system thinks, so it's best to just manually toggle daylight time on in the summer and off in the winter.

i have the cc time wrong half of the year... basically during winter... and have the correct time in summer. Is it that hard to implement the 1h time change on the set dates on which it always happens???

The trouble is, the set dates are not the same in every country. Many countries do not used daylight savings time at all. Among those who do, there is vast disagreement about how to set the date. The U.S. calculates it one way, Canada calculates it another way, Europe a third, Israel a fourth, Mongolia and Korea a fifth, Australia and New Zealand a sixth. Even within those six systems, there is huge variation. Most of Canada uses Daylight Savings, but some parts of Saskatchewan do not. Half of Australia does, half does not. Most of Europe does, but Iceland does not. Most of the U.S. does, but Arizona does not.

For computer programmers, it's a huge hassle trying to set Daylight Savings (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time#Computing)

CC prefers not to beat its head against a wall trying to solve a problem that 600 programmers at Microsoft failed to solve. We just let you set your daylight time yourself. It takes you two seconds to jump into Control Panel and toggle Daylight Time On or Off.

well it works perfectly on my phone and any other device. we basically change our time the saturday following both equinox... if it's wrong for a couple of days a year it's still better than being wrong 6 month of the year. we all set our profile with the country time we want, it isn't rocket science to add a couple of lines of coding to add +1 hour from the 21st of september till the 21st of march.

Exactly. Different countries have different dates.

Your phone, betiko, downloads a time stamp directly from the cell tower every time it handshakes, and the cell tower only has to be programmed for what the rules are in your country. CC is open to players from all countries, with all different Daylight Time rules, as explained above.

did you guys even read? it's not on the 21st that we change time here, but you can set that arbitrary date or whichever you want, even if the time is wrong for a few days IT'S BETTER THAN BEING WRONG 6 MONTH A YEAR

So when my clock goes wrong on the 21st September, I go to my profile and correct it. Then on the last sunday in October I have to correct again. And yet again on the 21st March, before finally altering it on the last sunday in March too!

How is that easier?

It's better yet to just toggle it on or off when you want to, so it's never wrong.
