What do you think about the current medals system?
How could we improve medals or the idea behind them?

To steal the famous phrase from Red Sanders --
Medals aren't everything..... they're the only thing!

MEDALS ARE FUCKING LIFE.
I really don't care about medals, without them, this site is meaningless. Medals are everything; medals are nothing. Give me medals, or don't give me medals, and one day, medals shall or shall not be acquired.
One thing we can all agree on though: boobs are better than medals. BOOBS.
This thread is now about boobs. WHO LOVES BOOBS?
Bollocks.

I don't really care much about the ordinary medals, sure they make me happy once I've obtained a new one, but I would not start games with the mere objectif of chasing after one.
What I do care about is the special medals: Tournament organizers, tournament winners, general achievement, ... Purely because I have so few or none of them.
Though I have to admit, when I initially started playing CC the ordinary medals were very important to me. Now, they are so common to me, I don't really care.
So yeah, I I think it's "the grass is greener on the other side" kind of thing.

They are a Blessing and a Curse,
There not much better feeling than getting a hard earned medal, winning a clan war or Tournament
but they have lead me into the Darkside of CC, cheating with Betiko to get them.
like i say, they are a Blessing and a Curse

Introducing new game play medals is probably the only thing that will convince me to buy premium again

Couldn't care less. Rank is more important than medals.
I suppose freemiums (freemia ?) who acquire sufficient medals could be awarded premium.
Whatever system you have though, if there is advantage to be gained from it, someone will try to cheat it or find a way round it.

There are tournaments with conquer credit-awards where you can earn free premium.

how about you buy yourself a premium instead of spamming cc everywhere to try and get premium or more slots to play? damn cheapstakes.
regarding medals: once i've reached a certain point in gameplay medals, I see how hard and long it's been to get a certain amount of unique and i see what's left for the next level i'm just bah, not going to bother anymore. I like going after the other ones (clan, tournaments, challenges...)... but basically, even if i still like medals it's not like a few years back when i was always chasing a certain one and i was selecting games just for that.

They were when The Crown was chasing you

I will give you some validity to that. But even when he was a single medal behind, I started to care less and less.

Why do you care about tournament organizer medals ?? They don't mean anything anyone can get one with very little work its not a sign of skill or ability it just means you have free time. It should be taken off the medals page.

I don't know. It just feels tremendously good when you put a lot of effort into organizing a tournament, therefor contributing to the community on the website and then get rewarded with a medal to show it off.
I'm not saying it's rational, but it's just how I feel about it.

I've only ever organised one non-clan tournament. There were 48 players and well over 200 games involved, I felt I deserved that medal. On the other hand it takes virtually no effort to churn out tourney after tourney of 8/16 player single game knockouts.

LMAO - you seem really confused. If you paid attention you would note that many high rankers now have lower ranks from medal chasing. Rank does not = skill in a whole lot of cases

I take back my statement your right it is good to be rewarded and with you agreeing its not rational i guess that means it makes more scene. The medal stands but only for fun not accomplishment.

I give my dogs a pet or a nib of food every time they do something good. I like being treated like a dog just to get some medals
I have thus come to the conclusion, most of us are dogs.

link medals to open new maps, then you solve 2 things:the value of medal and the overkill of new maps for beginning players...now medals are worthless to me,only tournament-wins(cups)give me a hardy
