how many people were on this site when i was active. it is like pulling teeth to get someone to join a speed game?

how long has it been like this?

multiplayer games rarely fill, so you have to start 1vs1 games, which are joined quickly by stripes. Since it's 1vs1 it's luck based in a high percentage of the cases, playing speed games then makes you drop rank. That was the reason that many players above 2000 didn't start speed games. Then the lag came, it was painful to play, so eventually most fans of speed games disappeared. ANd don't forget the death of freestyle.

If management hadn't:

1.rejected every suggestion of rank restricted games
2. killed freestyle
3. downgraded the hosting service (or whatever caused the lag)

we would have more speed games.

But then, we don't know if management wants speed games as they require more server processing/bandwidth. S

wow. so they did everything as far as making polymorphic, adding more players, and other types of gameplay, but they wont do rank restricted games? i had a cook earlier join my game that was one of the fastest players i have played against in freestyle.

well, my 5 dollar experiment to get back on this site showed me to stay away...

Me too, so bad. We've made a few goes at trying to get those games back up, or even 6 player doodles as a fallback, but no joy. I've finally let my premium lapse, and I keep checking in to see if there's any speed games up I'd want to play, and there really aren't.

I do reckon that CC might be at the death spiral stage, where there just isn't enough casual activity to keep people here when they do check it out, and that drives anyone who isn't super into clanworld away because there's nothing to do. That's where I am anyways.

Feels like the day when it'll just be clans fighting clans and nothing else isn't very far away.

Do you think it might help if people could register and save their preference for certain game types, and then when a game of that type was created they would get an email with a link to join?

What if, as you are creating a game, you could see how many people have registered a preference for the settings you are choosing, so you can create games that have a good chance of filling quickly?

I made a suggestion for a Game Matchmaker feature that I think would help games of all types get filled quicker, but only one person commented on it.

the current population is too small to support the enormous amount of different ways to play the game. i havent seriously played this game in about 3-4 months. every time i try to give ot another chance im just left there standing out in the rain. i thought running tournaments would be enough to keep me involved, but that department is suffering as well. so now i just read the forums. which is also stupid these days. honestly i would have been long gone but sadly cc has consumed so much of my last 4-5 years, i just dont know how to let it go.

Doesn't the clan keep you interested? I noticed PIG aren't up to much these days.

My other recent suggestion - Unlimited Wait-Lists for Freemiums might not help with speed games directly (because the fremiums can't play them), but I think if would help games to fill faster, which would lead to more activity on the site, and perhaps more interest in speed games and more paid memberships.

probably non ranked speedgames would make more people play .(but then people would play like idiots ?)

But i can also blame some of the hardcore freestylers. Every time someone new joined thoses games and screw up that stupid 8players FS doodle, ranting and insulting would happen all the time.
If those games are for fun, why would someone new(and old) would have to deal with this kind of people?(majority)

pigs are done. we played hh last to try and ignite a spark but that fizzled out. there are only a few members left that still horse around. other than that most everyone has left the site. pigs were kind of unique on the fact that the majority of us were new to clans. including the leaders. so we melded well. but when we started to crumble, no one cared about clans anymore. there are one or two guys i think that moved to another clan, but that was it.

Nearly everyone in our clan is in one for the first time as well, but we're still going strong. It's a shame.

I'd like to support degaston for his suggestions. Nevertheless Williams is right it takes a lot of time and experience to digest all the different options CC offers at the moment.

Maybe the general membership has had enough of playing their speed games with self entitled part-time freemie swine, grunting on like some love sick boars about their needs and desires?

Perhaps your hands have grown coarse and we don't want you caressing the small of our backs whispering in our ears, "Come on, It'll be fun, just this last time and I can sleep".

When is ronc and his shadowy team of insatiability going to be satisfied? Exactly how many speeders does it take?? How long before their thrusting stops???

I don't know, gang but I can tell you as your passionate protector that I won't stand for this disgusting void of gratitude.

Pay your $5 co-pay, turn your head and cough like a man,

this was a "unique clan in general" claim, not a "we are the only clan like this" claim.
sexy banners are like strippers. they're sexy. except the fat ones. and the ugly ones. and the ones that smell like canned tuna. in other words, not all strippers are sexy. just like your banners.

I used to play speed and was decent at it...An yet i am curious since when does rank equate fully to skill...I see stripes of the highest levels still get beat by cooks. It's luck of the dice that ultimately runs these games. You can have a better strategy sure than the other guy, but if the dice rolls lack, guess what that strategy doesn't give you any help. Anyways, I agree with that freemiums gaining some form of access to speed games. Sorry, yeah I am a freemium who used to pay for the site, but no desire since CC's downfall slide to even pay for this stuff anymore. Sorry, just feels a little like throwing away money at this point. So why not make the games a little broader to freemiums to try and get more folks interested again instead of favoring paid members all the time. Notice I said just give freemiums a little more options, not all that away premiums can still feel all special and crap.
