I'm not sure where to tell CC Dispatch to stop PM'ing me, so I'll do it here.
CC Dispatch, stop wasting my time with your spam.
Sincerely,
BBS

There is no unsubscribe option any more. The point of the Dispatch is to keep you and all other members informed of events that the site is putting on for your benefit. You can freely ignore it if you don't like it.

Originally, lackattack.
However, after three years of broken promises, it was finally BW who brought it to fruition.
As far as the moronism of it, what seems moronic to me is that for seven years such an obvious idea wasn't adopted. This is, quite honestly, the first organisation I've been part of in my entire life that didn't deliver its newsletter to all members. About time that such a moronic oversight was corrected.

I do think it's great that it's automatically sent to everyone initially as I'm sure a lot of folks don't even know of its existence, but there should be an opt out option after you receive your first issue.

I agree there should be an option to opt-out, but then you would miss contests and lot of valubable info.
Butters1919, I'm almost 100% sure you'd play my contest if you just opened the newsletter.

How's that doubling-down on the stupidity strategy been working? It sure has stopped the Great Decline. Keep up the 'good' work.

omehgerd, really!?
That spam offers nothing I want, so you're wrong.
"If only CC would let me spam everyone's PM box, then they wouldn't miss contests and lots of valuable info!"

I thought I was still in the usergroup that received the dispatch. I think unsubscribing should be an option though -- it is a nice best practice. Even if it technically isn't an email.

Is it really that difficult to delete it from your inbox if you don't want to read it. A couple of clicks and it's gone.

Why should we eat the costs? I see a new PM, and I think, "Gee, I hope it's something useful. Oh, it isn't. My time's been wasted by a service I don't want." As paying customers, shouldn't we expect better service?

Liar. You say that, but I know you can't resist wanking all over pics of my face. I'll take that as a compliment. You're welcome, AoG.
See, CC? It's about customer service; it's not about being a pack of douche bags.

I agree that an opt-out policy should be implemented, in theory. In practice, I don't think it's worth much dev time. If people leave because the site is trying to keep them informed of what's going on, then f*ck 'em.

Not offering an 'opt-out policy' signals that CC doesn't really give a shit about its customers' preferences. If the dev costs were small, yet CC still didn't feel like doing the opt-out policy, then that sends an ever stronger, negative message.
What other consumer preferences does CC not care about? Maybe the Great Decline is largely explained by stubborn admins, mods, and owners who erroneously place their own preferences before their customers' preferences. Many business fail from such hubris, and the comment, "f*ck 'em," succinctly describes their attitudes.

Lots of them. Private message me some time if you'd like to hear all the ways that the administration does not care about them. It'll take a while.

Well, I don't have the same incentives as the administration. I don't really care if they make money.

I wouldn't care..If our inbox wasn't limited....Make it unlimited, like say yahoo's inbox.or cbs sports fantasy message archive. Then you can send me all the crap you want......I like to save some messages,in my C.C. inbox. But that's becoming harder and harder.....Thank You Kindly..ConfederateSS...out!!!!!!!!!

I am in full support of no opt-out. It is a monthly reminder to those who never bother to go past the My Games, Join A Game, and Start A Game pages that there is a community out there a few clicks and keystrokes away that will scream, fight, and have a good time with them. Like a mother trying to get her son outside to make friends with the neighborhood kids, and won't stop nagging until he finally does.

And we thought we were having server issues... This is here for a reason, you know

Keeps everything less laggy (*than it could be*)

A (untested) workaround that might be of some use to those in this thread. Create a
Inbox Rule such that:
If Sender
is user CC Dispatch | Delete message

Yes, yes, you're the all wise one who knows best. Lemme know when your kind have solved the Decline.

Awesome. Thanks, hopefully it works.
Okay, gents. It's been real. Thanks for revealing a clearer face of CC.

James...The real pool is the public pool...not hiding in clans...or worrying about points..you meet new people in the join games page..That's one of the problems of the decline.the clan...New comers feel lost and unwelcome......The only time I have played a tourney..Was Highlander Attacks 100th tourney.I wont say who.but a C.C. member got a hold of Highlander's tourney list and was spamming everyone on it....I won the games needed to advance to the second round...I wrote Highlander a message telling him because of the spam ..(I like to save the messages from high command when I get a medal.),Do not advance me. I am dropping out of your Tourney ,I will never play in another one. I never have..I do play in special Events though..Like the 70th Ann. of Pearl Harbor..That's on of my Gen.Ach.Medals.....You can see my dismay .in my D-Day posts..about C.C.,not doing anything for D-Days 70th.......So maybe you should stop holding your mother's hand in the clan..Get into the public pool...............ConfederateSS.........out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!P.S..I always read the announcements...and The newsletter, because it's listed in the forum..So they really don't need to send it to us....................................

I think your argument supports an opt-out policy. I know there is a community out there. I can opt out of monthly reminders.
