Partner Abandonment - should they be rewarded with points?

In a team game - I had a partner who was kicked out for missing too many turns. I later found out that it was due to computer access issues. I (we?) went on to win the game.
When he was kicked out, I was awarded his armies and countries - thought we lost potential armies during the 3 turns he missed.
I was curious to see how the points would be awarded and they were split evenly between my partner and I. Sound fair?

As far as I know the points are evenly distributed. However Im not 100% on that.

In the Deadbeat case it seems a little unfair to split the points but the points must be shared as often partners will sacrifice themselves for the team.

I'm not sure where you interpret me whinning - I'm on the fence on this as I have never faced this before and I am trying to get feedback from others as to what they think.

Not that it makes much difference, but just clarifying, the game I was playing had no cards.

I don't care if they get the points, what peeves me off is that the deadbeater's armies (and cards if applicable - I never play card games) go to the remaining team-mates. I think they should become neutral.

i think, if you deadbeat in 3 game, you should be kicked out of conquer club, and they dont need to get no points. you know they get all the points that you get that the rules. i dont like deadbeat!
