can I trade some inventory stars to keep at my current rank?

I am currently at score of 1116, which makes me a corporal. I may lose my next game. can I use some inventory stars to somehow keep my current rank? just a thought. let me know.

Can I trade my stars for "randomness" that isn't manipulated scripted bull shit?
