Such A Sad Thing To See

Only 2208 players have completed 20 scored games in this month. What is happening to this site, why is everyone leaving?? There used to be WAYYYY more active members on here. What is being done to move back to those days?

10923 players finished at least one game. That's not to bad. I've been playing for years and years, but I don't think I had many months in which I played more then 20 games. It's just a matter of perspective on what is ''active.''
Keep in mind that some players play games with a lot of players non escalating, they can have 20 games active right now but only finished a few in 20 days.

11518 is the number of players currently active on the scoreboard. That's not bad.

I know that is taking an enormous amount of time for casual games to fill. Am trying to get trench medals. At any time have over 20casual team games waiting for opponents. I'm not that good, so I don't think it is that folks are scared. I just think people don't play much, and there aren't many active players. Or maybe with no map rank folks have quit medal hunting?

I would consider a player with over 20 active games to be a 'moderately heavy user'. It would seem that the stats back me up on that. I have rarely had more than 20 active games in my time here.

Let's consider it in this way:

+10 active games - a reasonable fellow

+20 active games - a moderately heavy user

+30 active games - an individual bordering on general incompetence

+40 active games - an addictive personality

+50 active games - a lunatic

I'm a lunatic that is being starved of active games, not many players are joining the games I have waiting(currently 98), I'm having to leave the last 2 slots open in case of invites. :(

This also depends on the type of game you are playing. 8-12 player standard games, your turn may only come around once a week, so you can afford to have a few more than you would team games or 1v1.

I join a few of your games now and then but not too many because we'd both get tired of fighting each other. :D

The Medal Stats are still useful for medal hunting though.

The new home page is unattractive and unappealing, as are the incessant ads. It feels like progress in the name of money, greed, and business; and that sort of progress is rarely good and always dirty, on some level. CC is going to the dark side, and fans are jumping ship and running for the hills. Think I might be next.

What incessant ads? You're premium.

Your rhetoric is a bit excessive, don't you think? I don't think that the addition of these things indicate going to the dark side, do you?

- Polymorphic games
- Bot games
- AutoTournaments
- New Scoreboards
- Conquer Champion Tournaments (whatever they're called)
- A slew of implemented suggestions
- Other improvements that I can't think of right now

I don't see anything dirty in that list.

I mean, come on. Sure, you might not like the homepage. But you've also gotten a giant bucket of new game play options and tournaments. Life is so rough, isn't it?

"Behold! I have seen the dark times, and they are dark indeed. Of course, I always see dark times, so if they do occur, I'll be correct, and if they don't occur, I'll say that they haven't occurred yet. Be very, very scared and panicky. Oh, and please make a donation to my nearest religious organization. Thanks!"

There are ads before you login on the homepage.... premium or not.... putting that aside which is really not bad... the homepage it's a total wreck right now.

I believe the reason for games filling slower is the amount of new settings, so people get more spreaded
Map rank still works fine. You can also check medal stats if u dont know how many kills u need

I have to agree, new home page is really ugly. If on one hand we have some nice developers doing great work on the other hand we cant expect a tech developer to be a nice designer, so i guess what it need is a designer with good taste to improve the graphic stuff

Bullshit, to much sangria mate? Map rank does not work as it used to. Can get a partial result by using game finder and clicking many boxes...... f*ck that. How about the map rank we used to know, that worked until an update raped it. You know the bottom left off the page.

Nice developers? Nice developers be damned, give us some developers that can produce new stuff without affecting existing things, like site clickies, tournament invites, to name two. I don't care how nice they are. Could be a hairy palmed, rude, sarcastic, unwashed, francophone living in a trailor in quebec with only the mummified corpses of their past pets/partners. Would not matter, we don't need them for their personality........

What "it" need is a planner or project manager. Someone to coordinate all site update, management, and maintenance efforts. Give the site a direction, integrated vision, make the mantle match the drapes....

Bejeebus Bogan....you forget your meds? If you hate it that bad here, leave.

I've been here since the site was less than a month old; I've ALWAYS had ~10 active games at once....I've ALWAYS heard people BITCH about everything and every change...gods. I only play friends (99% of the time)....the SAME friends over and over....boring huh? lol

Even though the homepage is fubar, I am sure it will be fixed and its a hell of a lot better problem than, oh....having cancer? Not being able to pay your bills??

I, for one, still love the site and think wham-o is doing an excellent job.

Lastly, whoever made that first post (jd?)....its purely the worst kind of heresay with no backing information; did there used to be MORE completed games in the same period? You got facts, whiner-boy?

Now go kill each other and be happy, dammit!

If u want map rank to work like before u should write and ask the developer to update it. The guy stopped working on it long time ago.
Those are 3rd party addons who were developped by individuals/volunteers.Not by CC
Not sure what many boxes u need to tick for it to work. I guess its only polymorphic games that interfere with MR

Then u have clickies.Mine are working just fine.Never stopped working. But again. Its something that needs to be updated by developper, not cc

I didnt mean they are nice because of their personality:i have no idea who they are. What i see is some developer dynamics that ive never seen before since i joined

Not like many games can keep you addicted on such a long period as CC. I m reducing a lot, trying to be under 10 active now. I realize how much time per day I spend here otherwise..
I think that most heavy players quit because of the burden it becomes in everyday life, you need to log at least once a day... People take a break and eventually come back.
Ok, i really apreciate what bigwham is doing but to honest, the site having more and more to offer is kind of scary, in a way that people can fear getting too sucked in.
I m a big medal hunter but now i think i will renounce. Too many new stuff out, too much time spent on the site already.

Wtf???? Is almost everyone a pie eyed parrot. Repeating the same trite line. Polly want a cracker? Polly needs a fucking brain enema.

Once again for those that missed it the other 35times.

UNDERSTAND ARE ADD ONS(hence the factual descriptive name).
ADD ONS WERE WORKING
UPDATE KILLED THEM
ANY COMPETENT PROGRAMMER CAN REPLICATE AND/OR FIX WHAT ANOTHER WROTE - You break it you fix it.
DON'T GIVE A MONKIES ABOUT MOST ADD ONS. DON'T WANT TO BLOCK NAUGHTY LANGUAGE, GET REMINDERS ETC
TWO THINGS AND TWO THINGS ONLY - CLICKIES AND MAPRANK

Clickies are working again, maybe one of the parrots with some programming knowledge could fix maprank. Maybe fix maprank instead of aping captain obvious and saying that an add on is an add on............................

arama86n, I apologise sincerely for not believing all you said about Armandolas. I now give credence to your words of warning. Sorry for doubting you old friend.
