Das Schloss question...

I had a look, couldn't find this in an existing post (I admit I didn't trawl through all pages of posts mentioning "Das Schoss")...

Re: this game - 13027716

My team has, as far as I can see, fulfilled the objective as stated on the map - occupy and hold for 1 turn four designated territories. I turn after taking the fourth territory (i.e. we held the other three already), I started my turn, expecting we would be declared victorious. Yet the game continues...

Any ideas why?

Please, I need an answer on this before my teammates track me down IRL, since going for this was my idea and could compromise our hard work thus far if this doesn't get us a win...

Well, the game has fog, so it's impossible for me to verify that you hold the correct territories.
What I can tell you though, is that in team games, 1 single player has to hold all the territories that are part of the objective in order for it to trigger a win - it is not enough that those territories are all controlled by various members of your team. It has to be 1 single member of the team.

Maybe that is the problem?

Ah, I see. That indeed would be a problem, thanks...

I don't recall seeing that written down anywhere, but I'll go check...

On all maps with objectives, that is the way they work in team games. The objective must be held by 1 player on the team. It's usually not really stated that way on the map, but it's the way the mechanics of the site work.

This is like for any bonus. If a bonus is held by several members of your team it doesn t work. It needs to be the same guy!

Yeah, the actual text in the Instructions under "team games" is this:

"To play a team game, try doubles, triples and quadruples. Quadruples games must be played with 8 players, triples games with 6 players, doubles games with 4 or 6 or 8. Teammates are determined by the sequence of players, for example the first two players and second two players make up two teams in a doubles game. In team games, you can deploy on your teammate's regions and reinforce to your teammate's adjacent regions (but not through them). The score is calculated per team. When a player is auto-kicked in a team game, the first surviving teammate inherits the troops and spoils. In team games, zone bonuses must be held by a single player to have effect."

I think it would be clearer if the last sentence was extended to read "...and all regions required to be held for victory must be held by a single player to obtain a win", or similar... A bonus is not the same as a victory condition, so it should be explicit about this.

I kind of see your point... however, if you look in Instructions under Gameplay Notes and scroll down to Victory Conditions/ Map Objectives, it states the following:

"Some maps have 'victory' objectives, which you must conquer and hold for one round to win the game. If you are holding an objective, you will win the game at the moment you press the "Begin Turn" button, even in assassin and terminator games (think of this as the ultimate zone bonus). In team games, as with bonuses, the objective must be held by a single player."

Maybe it'd be better to state that in both places though... I'll submit that for consideration.

You're right, it does state it there. I think it wouldn't hurt to state it in both places, and it seems like it would take only minimal effort to do it. Thanks for submitting it...
