In the rules it says that someone else can take a turn for you as long as you announce this fact in chat.
If you mean just looking over your games, offering advice and the like, then I don't think there is any problem.

He can "check your games", whatever that means, w/o logging into your account.

I reckon its cheating ifa friend takes your turns in a game you're both in. Cheating on your friends part, but letting him do it is just as bad. If you're away for a day and ask your friend to take turns so you dont miss any, then I guess it should be ok.

That's called account sitting and perfectly legal. It is only illegal if you play his account in a game where you two are opponents. Otherwise it's totally fine.

If you go to FAQ / Contact, it has many questions answered. its in the top on the right hand side by the rules and club forum.

and I think it answers about friends taking a turn for you.

here I found it for you.

14. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence.

when they say not your opponent they mean that your frinds can still take the turn if your on the SAME team in a doubles or triples match
