Newbies entering games and never making a move

Postby jayhawk59 on Sun Aug 04, 2013 1:01 pm

There has to be something we can do about the newbies joining a game and never taking a turn.

I believe there is a fail-safe in place, after three turns the person is removed from the game.
You also have the option of becoming a premium member for the low low price of $25/year, and then find yourself not caring the slightest that some newbie is dead-beating. For that is the real heart of the matter isn't it, one of your slots is being blocked for three days now for a measly 15 points or so. O:)

You can also try playing other maps besides classic to severely reduce the chance that a newbie even joins the game. I've been known to throw up a 1v1 every once in a while and I can't even remember the last time a NR joined. Not this year certainly.

They raised the price! Was it not $20 just a year ago?
I have been here for a full year.
Have not seen any real improvement to this game. Don't believe I will re-up.

It's been 25 for at least 3 years now.

Oh OK! Guess I might think about re-upping my subscription.

Can you explain why there has been no 'real' game change in the past year?
I put in plenty of suggestions.
Please work on it.

I look at it more like the fact that 25/year is a bargain and I'm happy with that low price. That said, I'd be thrilled to have seen more changes and improvements under new management, looks like they're just going to milk it for what they can get with minimum effort... BUT: what we get is still great value for money.
If you follow :-s :)

You have hit the nail on the head. It was so frustrating to only have 4 slots and people deadbeating preventing any further play until those slots were free. I finally decided to go premium and like it a lot. However, that still doesn't solve the problem with the same deadbeaters joining games. I still foe constant deadbeaters. There is no excuse in not finishing a game especially a speed game. I have even had some who looked like they were deadbeating out and after two missed turns come back with all those deferred troops to try to win. My best advice is if you don't like playing someone who doesn't have the courtesy to finish a game then foe them!

Always felt this is one of the best games on the web
and don't think it needs a lot of improvement.

Go premium, have over 100 games on the go, never even notice someone has deadbeat in a game
