questions about missed turns and a continent bonus

I'm sure that this has been asked before, so please forebear.
In the following scenario :
- a player holds a continent
- that player misses two turns in a row.
- during the 2nd turn, the continent is broken.
Will that player receive the bonus for the 1st round that he held the continent assuming he doesn't miss three in a row ?
To put it by way of example :
- player "jacough" holds Australia at the end of round 4, he has not missed his round 4 turn
- player "jacough" misses his turn in round 5
- player "jacough" misses his turn in round 6
- player "richardweed", who plays after "jacough", breaks Australia in his round 6 turn
If "jacough" plays in round 7, will he get 9 armies, or 13 ?
