so i've played enough to see that the card sets are somewhat random. sometimes all three are not on the same continent, and it seems the color scheme is fairly random because i can turn in 2 reds and blue, or 2 from asia and one from africa. so is there a way to tell if you have a set before it prompts you to deploy (say at the end of a turn when you see what card you get)?

2 reds and blue is not a possibility.

A set consists of 3 of the same color, or all 3 different.

The countries only come into play when you own one of them. If you do and you cash you get an extra bonus of +2.

But all of this info can be found in the FAQ, located on the far right tab at the top of this page.

Only the colors matter mate, you get a set with 3 red cards, 3 green cards, 3 blue cards or 3 mixed so 1 red, 1 green and 1 blue (being worth 4, 6, 8 and 10 in flat rate games)

I also advice you to read through the instructions page, it's quite short but tells you this kind of stuff ;)

Yeah, and if you have 5 cards at the beginning of a turn, you must cash once. Keep this in mind when playing escalating cards.

If at any time during your turn, you get 5 cards or more (from eliminating someone), you automatically have to cash.

Once again, this can be found in Instructions.
