I thought it was strictly a seasonal map. Is it now a permanent fixture>

It will stay open until a time TBD - hopefully not past the end of January.

If I were to play on the Christmas map and fail to get a cross map before it is taken down, would I have the opportunity next year to finish my 5 unique defeats or would it be a permanent record of "maps not won?" Same goes for "Colosseum."

Christmas, Easter, and St. Patrick's Day maps come out every year. So, you will have that opportunity. There are a few maps that are closed and no longer used unless something special happens, but those are used every year.

Colosseum is open year round for Battle Royales.
