Are you guys sure this is working as intended still?

Here is my current game: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=12185892

I currently hold 65 Regions, my opponent holds 33. According to the rules written on the map, I should receive 1 Bonus army for every 5 territories held (61-100 territory rule). This means, I should get 13 bonus troops. I am also holding the Conquer Man for an additional bonus of +2 - making it a total of +15 at round start.

My opponent on the other hand should receive 1 Bonus army for every 4 territories held. This equates to +8. He does not own any other bonus.

However: Currently I am at +20 while he is at +10. It seems to me, the adjusted territory bonus rules are completely ignored and we receive +1 for every 3 territories held.

Can someone please confirm this or explain my fault in calculation?

I think it's not the armies you get over the total number of regions, but on the parts. That it also logical else you would get more armies when you hold 30 regions (30/3 = 10 armies), then when you hold 31 regions (31/4 = 7 armies).

So you first have to take the 1-30 regions and get 1 for each 3 regions. Then starting at the 31st region you get 1 army for each 4 regions, then starting at the 61st region you get 1 army for each 5 regions.

So in your game at this point:

jcarter1 65 regions
region 1-30: 30/3 = 10 armies
regions 31-60: 30/4 = 7 armies
regions 61-65: 5/5 = 1 army
total = 18 armies

shoop76 33 regions
region 1-30: 30/3 = 10 armies
regions 31-33: 3/4 = 0 armies
total = 10 armies

I thought that was exactly the point of the game. Making you think twice whether to push your opponent down to 30 before the end of the turn (or yourself up to 31) or not. Thought that was a unique idea actually :-P

So all it does in reality is shrink the amount of bonus armies the stronger guys get, without touching the amount of bonus armies of the lower guys.

Thanks for the explanation :)

there are maps where taking certain location can cause you to have bonussess, or eat your starting the turn drops...
