Excuse the question, but I am new here and I am not sure how the cards work. I know that you when you cash them in you get troops, but does it have a benefit when you own the country the card says on it? How are the colors different? I read the manual, but could not really find that, sorry if it is written down just delete this post please.

Bonus Cards

Escalating sets are worth 4,6,8,10,12,15,20... (i.e. the first set of cards turned in by any player is worth 4 armies, the second set is worth 6, etc.)

Flat Rate sets are worth 4 for red, 6 for green, 8 for blue and 10 for mixed.

From the instruction section.

And yes it gots benefits for having the country written on the card, since you get an extra 2 armies deployed on that country when you cash in.

In escalating, the color of the cards don't really matter, except when making sets.

Also..Welcome to CC, have fun ;)

If you own the country you get 2 extra units on that country

You have to either have 3 of the same colors or 1 of each to cash in

anything else?

Aight thank you for the quick answers. Where is the difference between flatrate and escalating sets, sorry my English is not that great.

Very understandable, so you're English is good. English isn't my first language either.

For escalating/flat rate...

Escalating, the number of armies you get for cashing it will always grow. The very first set will be worth 4, the second 6, 8, 10,12,15,20,25,30.... Whoever play the set. Meaning if you're the third player to cash in, you get 8 armies.

In flat rate, it's always a fixed number of armies. 4 armies for a set of 3 red cards, 6 for a set of green, 8 for blues, and 10 for having one of each colors.

Here are a couple of examples to show you the difference.

Flat rate:
Player 1 turns in Kamchatka + Alaska + Ontario - it is worth 10 armies, plus he gets 2 armies added to Kamchatka because he owns that country.
Player 2 turns in South Africa + Brazil + W. Europe - it is worth 4 armies.
Player 3 turns in E. Australia + W. Australia + Siam - it is worth 6 armies, plus he gets 2 armies added to E. Australia, 2 armies added to W. Australia, and 2 armies added to Siam, because he owns all of those countries.
Player 4 turns in Congo + Indonesia + Japan - it is worth 8 armies.

Escalating:
Player 1 turns in a set - it is worth 4 armies.
Player 2 turns in a set - it is worth 6 armies.
Player 3 turns in a set - it is worth 8 armies.
Player 4 turns in a set - it is worth 10 armies.
Player 2 turns in a set - it is worth 12 armies.
Player 1 turns in a set - it is worth 15 armies.
Player 4 turns in a set - it is worth 20 armies.
Player 3 turns in a set - it is worth 25 armies.
etc... (the cards' value increase by 5 armies each time, plus you get 2 armies added to any country that you own that is a card)
