I was reading the rules of CC and came across the following. I can get most of them, but what exactly is "holding players hostage"?

Unwritten Rules

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

when you dont end a game and just deploy. when doing so against a non premium it doesnt allow him to play his 4th free game since you wont end the game. I think it was RL Orange that did this to a player years ago.

Holding a player hostage is deliberately prolonging a game when you could have ended the game easily several rounds earlier.

Let's say I'm winning the game, I get 20 troops per turn and you only get 3. You only have a few regions left and no stacks, if I instead of finishing you off, just deploy my troops every turn without taking you out, I'm holding you hostage.

Edit: I usually do this when I really want to piss someone off or force him to deadbeat, or both.

So does this also include those instances where a player will deploy to get rid of neuts, etc. as part of some obsessive compulsion instead of just ending the game? I hate that!

Another thing, what if i know that i will be eliminated from a game, or somebody whos turn is before me will trade and win the whole game
and i am going to lose points, can i extend the game i am winning to the next day so i can get more points out of the win?

I was thinking about this earlier and I am sure there are players that manipulate the duration of their games in order to maximize their points. Too much trouble for me though.

I'm sure that it still falls under the category of abusing game mechanics...
