Team Communication

I play this game with a buddy and we have been in some team games. I must say I really enjoy this site and playing!

My question is this...

Considering my friend and I work together we have opportunities to talk strategy when on break. Additionally we have even gone so much as called the other when there is some question as to what path to take. Is this form of communication in a "team" game frowned upon? I figure there are many team players that communication in the background.

You are always free to chat with your teammates outside of the Team Chat / Game Chat. There is probably pretty large percentage of Teams who communicate via outside messengers, forums, and in person, to coordinate their strategy and moves together in any team game of theirs, and I don't think too many would frown upon it.

For me, I kind of like keeping everything in Team Chat / Game Chat.

Before any member of the team hits the Begin Turn button
u suggest how you would move. Just suggest what you think the best move is, no need to explain why or give multiple possibilities. Just provide the best move you see
.

The planned move should be posted in Team Chat, then copied and pasted into Team PM

Board index ‹ Information ‹ Tools & Enhancements ‹ Available Tools/Enhancements<<CC Private Message Team 0.5
viewtopic.php?f=527&t=159621

and then a wait for input from the team (or time pressure) before taking the turn.

It will take a few games for all members of the team to get used to taking a few minutes to think about what the best move might be, and to get used to providing advice encouragement and respect to the team mates in planning their moves. Whether or not some are learners or there are team leaders, it should be the player whose turn it is to make the final call on the move.

Soon, there should be games with winning strategies that every team member helps shape and cheerfully follows. Virtually every move the team makes will be good team moves, few things missed or bad judgments. The team will have fun, learn and bond and win.

That sounds great man. A lot of good teams use msn or skype.

Thanks for the feedback, we just wanted to assure that by us communicating we were not breaking any guidelines

The only guideline is in non team games. All regular games (non team games) must use the game chat for all to see, but Team games only need to talk amongs each other. To this point any message sent to any of the team should be sent to all of the team. Even if it just your Mother's Almond Dust Cookie Recipe.
