Game Finder - glitch?

On the game finder, I no longer show the "Any" option for choosing players, maps, etc. Is this a glitch on my computer?
If not, in what forum should I get a discussion going on this? Because if this is a new format, I am not in favor of it at all...

Leave that part completely blank and it'll give you the same results as if you clicked any on the old format.

Not to worry.

Short answer: if you want any of the maps, just don't check any particular maps.

Long answer: what used to be implemented with radio buttons has been replaced with check boxes. Only one of a group of radio buttons may be selected (like the station pre-sets on an old car radio), whereas with check boxes multiple ones may be checked. This is a much more powerful way of searching for games. You can still do all the searches you could do in the past, but now you can do much more powerful searches in addition (that you couldn't do in the past).

It's an improvement, really.

Just think of every check that you make on the game finder window as a restriction. If you want to see everything, then don't make any checks.

There is a slight UI problem with this really...

It's not massively intuititive...

I guess the best way to make this better UI would be to check everything when the page loads...

However there is a problem with that too... say you want to only search for one map - you'd have to uncheck all...

Guess a "check all" and "uncheck all" button/s could be useful.

I guess intuitive is different for different people. I think if you approach the page with the notion that any check mark is a restriction in the games that you find it makes a lot of sense.

If I check nothing, I get everything without restriction.

If I'm only interested in Middle Earth maps I check that and get only Middle Earth Maps.

If I'm only interested in Middle Earth map standard, sequential, flat rate, unlimited games, I check those things and those are the things I get.

I'll grant you that it is a change from how things used to work, but to my mind it's really an improvement and doesn't need to be fixed at all.

I definitely agree that it's a massive improvement... I'm just not 100% sure on the UI... and that is backed up by the multitude of threads about it...

My problem is that I don't know how to redesign it to make it more intuitive...
