please explain to me what is so great about paying for this site?

Think about it.. the only thing extra we get is speed games... big deal.. and we can play more than 4 games...

Freebies have the better deal.. Yeah they only get to play 4 games at a time, BUT.. they can still

1. Play in tournaments
2. go up as high in rank as they want
3. play Premium members at will.. which should be done away with
4. get to join training

1. they should not be allowed in tourneys. This should be reserved for Premium members only
2. They should be held to a certain rank until they pay... like private or something low to give them incentive to pay
3. only play other freebies since there seems to be a butt load of them
4. No training until you pay....

I payed for my premium 2 or 3 days after I joined here( had to wait til payday). I find it rediculous that a handful of people pay the bills while the freebies bennies are damn near the same as ours.

While I am a freemium myself, I do agree with some parts of this.

1. I agree...I think it would get more people to play if you had to be premium to play in tournaments. By the same token, many tournaments do require that you be premium to play in them already.
2. I would agree that this might bring in a FEW more premiums. I'm not sure it would be many, but it would be a few, at least.
3. I don't really see a problem with this as a rule, but I don't think it would really drive very many people to become premium, so I'm not sure it's worth bothering with.
4. I disagree with this one very strongly. Getting the training absolutely can and does induce premiumship, because it makes people feel better about the game and thus more likely to pay to play. I think if this were enacted, the site would be taking away premium opportunities.

As to the benefits, I definitely don't believe freemium benefits are anywhere near those of premiums. Speed games and being able to play in more than four games at a time are MASSIVE benefits of premium membership, in my opinion.

Funny you should say that training induces premium dues when you are a LT... which means you've been here a while.. yet you haven't payed. so ... how do you think it helps?... didn't make you pay.

This site will never get another dime from me until bennies for premium severely outweigh the cheap seat bennies.

He used to be premium. And I'm sorry but I could never live with just 4 games.
My first year I played 2,500 games. That means I paid about a penny a game. That's pretty damn cheap entertainment, for a year!
I got to a movie with a date and its over $25 for 2 hour chick flick that i hate.

A lot of members (including me) will jump between premium and freemium. Sometimes we want to limit ourselves to just four games. But we pay again later. You should realise that a lot of the long-term members who are freemium currently have paid for premium before. Maybe many times or for other people as gifts. You should also consider that by allowing loyal members to 'keep their eye in' without having to always be premium, CC encourages loyalty. It is an excellent thing the freemium service here..it is one of the things I most respect about this site. Finally, sometimes members choose to be freemium for a while to limit how many games they play deliberately. I am currently quite busy and like sticking to 2 or 3 games.

Yep, and many are choosing to become freemium or just leave all together. Waste of money with the current set up. The game is boring with CC decided games.

You mean dice-decided games? Surely that is the point old chap. I'm confused by this concept of cc deciding my games. In all my time here (though i'd happily admit i've played less games than most) I've yet to come away from a loss thinking "CC lost me that game". How does that happen exactly? Is Andy sitting there with a big red button of quite some seriousness, directing CC-inspired evil at some poor unfortunate sod such as yourself?

What is this process that allows CC to decide my games other than the dice? And if it IS the dice (for of course it is) then don't you and I use same dice system?

The classic CC delusion is 'When I win it is strategy when they win it is dice'. This is of course utter crap.

Shame we can't discuss this in detail in some crap pub in Changsha...

what does being freemium have to do with limiting games?.. Just because you cough up your hard earned cash to a bs system, DOES NOT mean you have to play more then 4 games. That's called lack of will power.

I am dwindling my games down as they end to get down to 4 and when premium comes due again, they can stick it where the sun don't shine, because i still think paying 25 bucks just to get to play speed games (which I rarely play) and more than 4 games.. isn't worth it... there needs to be more for the payed members than the people who are just to cheap to pay. I can bet that most of the freemiums pay more for their cigs, alcohol, drugs, or whatever they blow money on, then 25 bucks a year.

And I notice that most freemiums are high rankers. They get their rank playing a bunch of games when they pay, then they ditch the premium to limit themselves, (supposedly), so they won't lose their precious rank is what it boils down to.

I think at the very least, they should give us the option when we create games to check a box that excludes freemiums. Every time I create a game... I get blasted by cheapiums entering my games..... rarely do non cheapiums play in my games.

You have been a member of the site for a whole two months. What has happened in this time frame to make you decide that it isn't worth $25? You paid and now don't think it is worth it. What has changed?

There have been 13 posts in this thread by 6 members (not counting me) and 2 are freemiums and 4 premium members. You can't get the facts straight so I would find it hard to listen to you about a topic that is so subjective.

I paid for premium within 1 week of joining the site and my wife has premium also. We think it is well worth the price.

When I get my next premium (as I will) it will be my fifth. I've also introduced 4 other players to the site who have also bought muliple memberships. My point? Don't make blanket statements about which you know little.

Many people you are regarding as cheap have paid for premium before and will pay again.

Oh...and being a freemium protect one's rank???? That's one of the stupidest things I've read here, and believe me there is a lot of competition for that title.

Btw...maybe in your effort to get 'get your money's worth every fucking penny of it' you may not have noticed that a small part of this game actually involves thinking about your moves before you play them. 400 games in and a cadet's rank is really quite a pathetic achievement. One wouldn't normally say anything..but considering you are so sure of this site and its many strange motivations and have already worked out in two months of membership exactly how things are...I feel justified in pointing out that as you obviously haven't worked out how to play the game why should anyone think you have understood the site?

Premiums also get to send game invites.

Saying this site is not value for money is silly, what with running tournaments, clan activities, having around 70 active games, browsing the forums, I spend at least 3 or 4 hours a day here. That's around 1000hrs for $25 a year.

True you can do most of what I mention as a Fremium, well being in a clan would be difficult, but having unlimited games means you can jump in and try the new maps as soon as the are in Beta, join any tourney you find interesting, accept invites for team games from friends you have made here.

I have found a fair number of gaming sites that let you have limited free play, but when you do pay on these sites, the more you play the more you pay. I like the flat fee here, much kinder to my bank balance.

Seems to me like you are thinking of one individual (yourself) not the site, in your reasoning. YOU don't play many speed games, I average 20+ a week. if I lost that that would be a bummer. You don't like playing lots of games. As soon as I go fremium i freak out cause I can't accept invites. Its about personal preference. and for you, yeah you realy should stay fremium from what you like! You only want 4 games, you can still enter tournies and you can play any game with anyone you like. You can't lose!! so go fremium bud! But don't get angry... lol you paid you didn't think it was worth 25, live and move on... it costs more than that to use your phone every month, internet... heck Fill up your gas tank once. this site isn't too expensive and if you think there are no benifits, don't buy back? haha there are benifits to those of us who do keep buying
