Could someone explain to me how you all define "spam&qu

Obviously I know what spam is in general but it seems to have a different meaning here. Most often it is used when somebody has the gall to not agree with someone's post. When the OP doesn't get a flood of responses all stroking them and saying what a great idea is and, rather gets a bunch of people telling them that it was a stupid question, etc. they accuse the people of "spamming" them.

Could someone break it down for me? I really want to be one of the cool kids and use all the right lingo here.

Spam is a post/thread that serves little or no purpose. It's like having a conversation on a thread. That's one example. Or it could be really random, like what Colaalone, does. He just walks in a posts a picture of something. Anything. As you continue to post, you will recognise spam more easily. Now, go of and Spam young one. Maybe someday you can join Spamalot :D Until then…
