Are speed games declining

Has anybody noticed that ever since we have the new settings and no inbox notifier, that the amount of speed games have declined? I know when this was first discussed, there was alot of talk of the server lagging. Maybe this is CC,s way to keep us from causing lag from happening.

I can remember when there was a full page up just of people just playing 8 man ass doodle. The last few weeks on some full days on this site, I couldnt even get 1 doodle game going all day.

Is there a way to see if there is a drastic decline

While i like the chance to decide on a shorter game turn time, I would really like to be notified with a message in my inbox, or what we used to call " turn notifier"

Does anyone else have any suggestions or notice this as a flaw in the fun and proper way to start a game on time?

I know if i leave the dumb window open, and only play 1 game at a time, then i wont have any problems. But that was the fun of it. I always set up 10 - 15 ...8 man doodle asses at a time, and the fun was when you would have 3-4 active at one time....this really sucks now ♥

I would like to have a vote to decide who does or does not like the new way

Please post both pros and cons

i dont think you can put it all down to the notifier this is part of the problem the other problem is 1 minute speed games many players would play 2 or 3 games before now it is not possible so you can only play 1 at a time. because you end up missing turns, and at the times the notifier does actually work it pops up and affects you getting a vital attack or a card.

I use "speed turns". It's not perfect, but it does refresh my games about every 15 seconds and tells me how many turns I have to take. That may help you out a little.

But when you were in a game in the past, you would see that you have a new message in you in box, knowing a game has started...so if you were quick, you could not miss the beginning of a crucial start

Yeah they're definitely declining...not due to the inbox notifiers or whatever you guys are talking about but because there's simply not as many guys around to play them. There's a thread somewhere Pirlo made that says there used to be 20,000+ active players and now there's less than 15,000 players. Practically all freestyle players have left by now which leaves the field very dry all day every day. Nothing to really fix about it...CC has definitely run its course in its lifespan and I honestly don't see it improving from here on out.

There were probably lots of people playing speed games just after the medals came out to get the gold speed.

Sounds like cc needs to make a higher level medal set like platinum for 1000 unique kills/wins. Or to come out with new type medals.

One thing noticeable is that, relative to 1 minute speedsters, 5 minute speed games seem more CASUAL. There were days when I was inundated at work but was still able to play 5 minute speed games because I could take a break every five (or longer in multi player games) minutes, now I cannot balance work with 1 minute games as they require complete focus.

There are fewer 5 minute games. And I don't think I've ever seen anyone pick a 4 minute game, lol. Well, there are 163 pages of completed 4 minute games vs. 531 pages of 3 minute games, 863 pages of 2 minute games, and 879 pages of 1 minute games.

Don;'t me wrong, I'll echo what a lot have.will said.say, I LOVE 1 minute games, but we've lost a lot of the critical mass that was required to get some 5 minute games going...

Nutballs or simply ADHD-diagnosed?

More often the speed games suck than before - it take forever to activate and download moves - and delays unnessesary !!

Generallly agree with megaplunk. There just does not seem to be enough players lately. Not sure if the number of players is declining or if there are so many different boards and options that there are not enough players for any particular speed game that is initiated.

I think it is because of the action, and these guys cant get into alot of games at one time because of fear of missing games ...we need the old way as a option

there are now less than 15000 players. we use to have 23000.

one third less players on the site means less players seeking games.

I havent thrown my opinion around for a bit so this is a great place to do so. Love you Mage ;) Yeah I can totally tell that the whole site is seeing a decline in general. I have plenty of very viable solutions but the powers that be dont really give a shit about implementing things of this nature so it does me no good to waste time discussing said options. Thats part of the prob Mage.... certain ppl just dont care about caring about the things we care about. Doesnt make playing here as much fun. Let me know if you make any headway with this honey! love you!

I generally don't play speed games; however, the times when I want to they do fill. The last few I've played have been 6+ player esc classic games which were fun.
