Armies from deadbeats in team games

Anyone else think it's unfair that deadbeat armies automatically go to teammates?

In a recent game on the classic map, yellow and pink both teammates had Europe between them. Pink deadbeated, yellow got his armies and immediately having control of Europe without losing any armies, which he would have had to do to conquer them of his teammate.

Another case where it seems that deadbeating has its advantages :?

You'll need to point out the game. I've never seen this happen. Was this doubles? If so, how are yellow and pink on the same team?

The fact that you get no help from you ally for 3 turns, and that those 9 troops are lost forever kinda balances it out.

Not really in this case. He only needs to hold that continent for two turns to get those armies back.

I've had instances where a partner has deadbeated on me or on an opponent that has given the remaining solo player a clear advantage. I've actually won in one of those instances where my partner deadbeated, but the vast majority of the time, the loss of cards and at least 9 armies is a severe handicap for the remaining player. If the deadbeating partner's armies just went over to neutral, a solo player in a team game would almost always lose. That would simply be unfair to the remaining partner. Yes, the remaining partner suddenly has much more territory and armies, but also only gets one card per round (as long as you're playing a game with cards), and that is already a pretty serious handicap. The situation as it is now is as fair as it can be.

Colossus is right Falcon. If it goes Neutral, not only does the single player outcarded and outarmied.... but he's also much more out-territoried.... lol Dont worry when I'm through you guys will have developped quite an extensive vocabulary :P

Another point about my game, why did pinks armies go to yellow who already had the other half of europe, when they could have went to cyan, the third teammate instead.

When a triples player deadbeats, who decides which of his teammates inherits the armies?

It goes to the "first" team mate...

i.e. the person of that team who first joined the game...

So in triples it's either Red or Yellow...

Unless of course they are already dead - then it goes to the next player down the list...
