Weak vs. Strong

I have noticed in my 1st few games here, that probably 25% of the time, one other player seems to target my stongest country on their very 1st move taking out 5 or 6 of my men right off the bat. My tactic has always been the opposite - to attack weaker countries in the beginning stages.

Am I missing something? Should I be attacking more fortified countries in an attempt to weaken a selected opponent?

That's not much to go on, can you give us some more details, the game numbers for example and which players went for those countries, privates or captains?

I really don't quite know what to make of it because I think it's stupid to attack countries with 5 or 6 on them when you have the same amount of armies. One unlucky roll and you've practically lost. 50 vs. 45 or something like that is different because the numbers are so high that you can expect the rolls to average out, but 6 vs. 5 is too low for that kind of calulation. Especially at the beginning of a game when you need to keep as many armies as you can so as not to get taken out early.

Hello , Lance Thrust

u work ur tactics just fine but the story comes as the following
Too many noobies around CC which means when u hunt for easy cards in the beginning stages of the game which is the most appropriate , some ppl feel threatened early so they attack ur strongest Amries my advice to u is the following, divide ur armies in 2 : example: u have 9 on ontario ,instead leave 4 on onario and 5 on northwest territory then if they attack 1 of those u still have a back up army
Cheers , Chessplaya

P.S:get ur score up a little bit finish ur 1st 20 games and start playing good players u seem like 1
