Deadbeating

I have started to play a few 1 v 1's das schloss on the new trench settings, its very frustrating that if either you are winning games or losing them early on and those who know the map and settings will agree, the game can be over after a couple of rounds.
So until they either introduce a manual setting for round limits i.e. if i set the game up, i get to pick say 10 to 100 or whatever, or they introduce a give in button, I intend to deadbeat games on that map if i am losing. Similarly if anyone plays against me and is learly losing, i dont mind if you deadbeat.
Has anyone any thoughts on this?

Deadbeating I dont have a problem with as I do it and I was playing against you in that map. Drawing out a losing game can be a pain
The question that gets posed at that point is, would a resign button be benefical for trench games at least or in general when you are dead and you just neutral kill until you are dead or deadbeat out. There are cons to it and I know they were probabally already discussed such as:
1) Point mongering
-- This could be bad for people trying to artifically inflate one person but by running a query you could see amounts of resignations and what round to see if anyone is abusing it. Plus its no different than throwing a game so that doesnt mean much into it
2) misclicking the resign button.
-- Im sure could be set to click it once and you have to click a checkbox and click it again or something to alleviate this.
3) is having a resign button worth the coding needed to put it in?
-- Ill leave whoever comes from here to answer that.
I think it would be benefical as it would eliminate needs to sit around waiting for the games to end and you can easily just end it and be on your way to other games but thats my opinion I guess.

I think the minimum amount of round limit, 20 rounds, is too big. 10 rounds limit would offer a lot more thrill to the game for those who would like to tick it. I have the same problem on Monsters.. most games are decided after 2-3 rounds, but it takes forever to clear the board!

I thought monsters was decided by who got first turn

.
I hate round limit cuz I'd hate to start the round and be stuck without a set and the other player just has to cash and end turn to get troop count above mine. Dangerous gamble

Well, that makes it even worse! Also, round limit is supposed to be best in no spoils games.. escalating games don't get endless.. not as much as the no spoils one do though.

I think deadbeating in trench is totally fine if you are losing.

I would seriously consider 1vs1 on SMALL maps in trench. I intend to go trench metal hunting on 100% madagascar as soon as I finish up this assassin and random.
but I have never cared if someone deadbeated me.. I do not know why anyone would care.

I don't think Lack would want to put in coding for this. It took him 6 months to make coding for trench, and now people want him to code for a resign button because of it? I don't think he would be willing to do this, and people would abuse it, I believe.

to deadbeat means you have to leave that game in your way for three days plus--I just drop and go --takes all of two seconds--but I have no problem with it

he used to have a resign feature, so im sure it wouldnt be that difficult for him to work off of that code to make it only applicable to trench games.

I doubt a resignation feature would be brought back, especially since it only existed for a few random months in 2006. I think would be more on board for something like the 'Domination' suggestion from the Announcement topic (either available only for trench games, but more likely something like that would be another new special gameplay option if it were implemented).

I would agree to a drop out button or resignation button on the Trench games. Especially where there are only say two players left and one of them controls like 70% of the board or some rational percentage. But the option for resignation should appear only under certain conditions; It should be bigger then life so that it is not missed by accident, perhaps the whole screen could even change color and if the option to resign is not chosen after a couple of rounds then the option is cancelled and game continues with no further option to resign. You would have to play it out to the end then. Or be a Deadbeat.
I would not be bothered by anyone Deadbeating under those circumstances. But if a Button could be created that would appear at the end of Trench Games at least then that would be more favorable than having to suffer all those rounds playing a losing game. That's what I would do in a trench game anyway if there is only one other player and he has the majority of the board. Why make the end any more exhausting. If I think I could win then why not try but if the end is obvious then why continue?

I vote for 10 rounds limit.. 20 is too much and barely reachable!
