Just now I was finishing up the 800 or so invites I had to send out for my Dubs Tourney: viewtopic.php?f=91&t=166399

Each of the 20 teams has 2 players on it (hence dubs). Each team plays 19 games. In total there's 190 games with 4 players to invite to each. So about 800 invites.

I use the ctrl + v method to easily just enter their names into the invite field and then I press enter. Well I accidentally just hit v and not the ctrl and sent the invite.

Now I am betting this happens quite often. XD

What does Ctrl + V actually do when it works? I'm a total muppet at keyboard shortcuts so any explanation gratefully received if it saves me time. I can't see how a Ctrl + V command would enter names into a field. What does it do? Cheers

ctrl + v is copy paste (command + v) for a mac

Ctrl + C copies marked text
Ctrl + X cuts marked text
Ctrl + V pastes either copied or cut text

Those are pretty standard shortcuts that come in handy when you're browsing the internet, writing text in words or using excel for example, or when you are making maps. It saves you some time.

Its happened with me several times - had to drop and resend invites on more than one occasion.

Good point. I shall go and file one now (seriously) on the basis his latest tourney is a blatant flame and definitely not in keeping with the wonderful spirit displayed in this thread.
