Farming - Do some of the C & A Mods know/implement the rules

New Recruit Farming---that is, systematically joining games with new recruits in order to "farm" newbies for points, you will find yourself escalating on the New Recruit Farming Vacation scale.

The recent Pedro Nunes case and others prompt me to ask, are the rules for farming based on joining new recruits games as above or the unwritten rule the mods seem to be applying i.e. setting up games which you have no control over and having new recruits join.

If this is the case should the rules not be changed so everyone who plays actually knows what the rules are not just someone's subjective opinion.

As an aside, the C & A forum is becoming a bit of a farce with odd rulings and very little explanation. The threads now are locked very quickly as I don't think they can handle any questions against their decisions.

Whats so hard to understand that "farming" rules are in place to keep people from taking advantage of new recruits (?). AND YES - people do create games knowing full well that they attract a large % of ?... That is farming. You specify the Pedro case. You or he can not say that he was not aware that he was playing A LOT of new recruits. He was guilty.

As for the locking of threads: C&A is NOT for discussions or flames or spam or trolling. ;)

Can we please use the word bogrolling, we're trying to get away from the negative images associated with farming right now

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I only wish it was utilised uniformly across the piece, its a very subjective rule.

Can a mod lock/delete this thread please

It is a subjective rule.

I.E. it does not give a value for the number of ? you can play within the rules, as some people would ensure they play that number of games.

It should say "playing" instead of "joining" games with new recruits, but in any case, systematically farming them has been against the rules for years, and honestly farming that many, falls under the gross abuse rule anyways, so only you find it subjective, whereas many if not most, find it obvious.

MAkes no sense suggesting that only I find it subjective but many find it obvious. The math don't add up. I would make an attempt at being condescending but I honestly don't think you would realise.

Um you can spell realise ( British English ) or realize ( American English )..just letting you know jefjef that both are correct. Now where were we, oh yes Bogrolling. It's a fine line, but the mod's in my opinion have made the right rulings so far on this issue.

I would realize and counter with far more condescending, and in this case, since I am correct, I would even be right.

There's a distinction to be made between the technical term "farming" (as in taking advantage of those with question marks beside their names) and the more general "bogrolling" (which means taking advantage of those who have more than five completed games but are still easy marks on some ridiculous combination of maps and settings.)
