Insulting can definitely cross the boundaries set in the forum. As can baiting and trolling.
In any case, have you insulted others with any of your posts?
Do you think its okay to insult others on the forum?
And, lastly, if you were found to be insulting other players in your posts, what action would you suggest be taken?
I think perhaps using more than one example will be more useful in discussing the topic usefully.

So using these "randomly" selected quotes.... would you say that in general, a poster: calling someone an idiot; comparing their actions to a 5 year old; calling them angry and impotent; suggesting[b] all posters on CC but three are quasi-educated; calling them inexplicably 'tiny' would be insults; or questioning their debating technique, which you seem to equate to people saying rude things? Would you suggest disciplinary action as you seem to be suggesting Woodruff has warranted for insulting another poster?I myself don't really think so, while many of the posts truly are obviously insulting, and some childishly so, its clear the poster is simply losing control, and probably just isn't as accustomed to complex discussions, so they find the need to delve into personal insults out of their frustration. While hardly professional, or arguably even mature, they don't seem to be the real insults that would fall under the flaming rules. This is just my opinion though.
But what do you think of such continual insulting posts, which just happen to be all from the same poster?
I think some would probably suggest a forum ban for repeated flaming. I suspect if they were also found to be continually baiting or trolling, that they would probably meet with some real potential punishments, but I don't pay attention to such things. I offer the speculation as a simple means to continue your original discussion, which without a doubt, is an interesting one.
Its also a great Idea for a thread. I'm fairly busy, but I think it would be great if you started a thread about baiting and trolling. I think its another topic that CC should discuss openly. Ill probably be able to dig up some examples for discussion, if I look
real hard.
