Is it the games, the forums? something else?


For me it's 50/50 now, for a while I was playing team games, sticking to the 1 map and setting, we got good, won most of them, I enjoyed talking with my team mates, but the game itself became boring.. Now I play for fun, new maps, differing setups, i have very little strategy, i have lost a ton of points but now the site has come to life again.
Is this the same for anyone else? Or is the battle for points all important to most?

I have 3 active games at the time. My gaming activity sort of fluctuates, at times I get more into the playing aspect, and other times I can't really be bothered that much...

Forums? Not really. I've pretty much given up on GD, the only things happening around here these days are the endless debates on farming and such... it gets tiresome after a while. Offtopics used to be fun, but now it's also kind of tedious - it's all the same faces with all the same opinions, the same political threads over and over.

What really keeps me at CC is the foundry and mapmaking, I really like creating new maps and playing them... For me mapmaking is at least 50% of the enjoyment I get from CC.

Oops, sorry, thought I was in the Conquest Club forums.

the voices in my head keep saying that if i don't return every day i'll have to start killing again, and quite frankly, it was getting hard to hide all the bodies, until i find another location to dump them i'll be here, the voices demand it.

Originally it was the opportunity to play a game like Risk online. Then what kept bringing me back were:
-Live Chat/Social: interesting mix of yack, joking around and new online acquaintances
-Scoreboard: figured out the algorythm and pushed to see how high I could go
-the "rush": of taking the risk of how long will it be before I lose another 60-100 pts to get only 4-6
-Live Chat PM's: chance to talk to people more in depth -- without the noise of Social
-pulling scams: using Live Chat PM's to pull practical jokes -- hey, all in fun, not nasty
-new friends: people like dazerazer, Merch313, lanyards, NoSurvivors, loes, apey, ImissSCca, etc.
-Clan team games: not only competitive games, but learning strategies, teaming, fun talk
-verbal debates: getting disgusted by some Forum thread posts; seeing the anger, and sparring with them -- but replying more comically compared to 30-50 overly negative people
-quieting flame/bait/troll offenders: using the CC rules to help CC minimize the over-negativity
-overall, trying to help CC Admin foster the "friends around the campfire having fun" atmosphere
. . .and always looking for other good reasons to keep coming back

Only just got here, but what brought me here was the chance to play some online Risk again (been a good 10 years now....) and maybe the opportunity to catch up with some of the old players from the Zone days again, though to be honest I barely remember the names any more....
