unbalanced starting situation

I several times found that starting situation is often unbalanced. I mean that some player has better positions as another - several adjacent regions, closer to bonuses.

I understand that sometimes it is hard to set up start 100% balanced, but this starting situation is realy inequitable - I have from start 6 armies to deploy while the first played guy just 5 armies. look http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=10425733

Don't play that map for fair start drops, and people are complaining random isn't random. Now drops are random, and people are going to complain they are too random...

It just happens.

Boom!! That's why conquest maps are my favorite. Check out this list: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=161938&p=3540197#p3540197

thanks guys.

aren´t conquest maps a little "waiting games"? I mean the starting positions here are autodeployed, so players only deploy to their starting position (+autodeployed armies) and after several round will game realy start?

Not really. Perhaps in a few of them, the gameplay makes you wait (like AoR 3), but in most, I start off attacking right away. In Feudal War and King's Court (the 2 I play the most), if you just sit and deploy, you will lose.

Most conquest maps have a lot of bonusses if you attack neutrals and these bonusses are high enough to be worth attacking the neutrals. If you just sit you get only 3 each turn, while if you take bonusses soon you lose some armies, but get a lot more armies each turn to deploy. Within a few turns that will give you a larger amount of armies then a player who just sits and deploys.
But you also shouldn't attack to much, because then you might get a very big bonus but you make yourself so weak that you risk being taken out before you can collect that big bonus.

So just sitting will almost certainly makes you lose the game.

Also you can play escalating 1 v 1 on conquest...encourages a player to take a card every round and speeds up game play as cashes increase.

I find conquest (neutral heavy) maps are best for 1 v 1 because they usually help make sure the drop is more even. Usually someone is not dropped with a bonus (except in a map like das schloss in can happen) so that makes it more fair. Though of course you can still have better or worse drops on some neutral heavy maps, but the risk factor is less on a conquest map for the drop to screw you over
