greasemonkey for Mac?

Postby Hatchman on Wed Apr 04, 2007 8:46 am

Hello all. Call me a boob (I don't mind), but is it possible to run the greasemonkey scripts on a Mac? I use OS X.

If so, how the hell do I install them? :?

Thanks 8)

Maybe the first step is to install Mozilla. I'm using Safari too.

First, sorry to hear you have a Mac.

The first thing to do is to get Firefox for Mac OS X from here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

You want the English version for Mac OS X.

Then I suggest you start here:

Good luck.

Have installed Firefox okay. tried downloading the greasemonkey file but it's of a type my machine doesn't recognise. Is it a PC only thing?

I'm going through my classic-standard-sequential-flat rate-unlimited phase.

If you're interested set something up and let me know.

So when you download the file from Greasemonkey web site what do you do with it? I try clicking on it and it won't open.

Dude, don't let your mac envy show through. Most of us have to use PCs at work but some of us realized that there's no need to deal with that garbage at home when we're not being paid. At any rate, if you install Firefox, it works fine with the mac.

From the Firefox browser, go tools, add-ons, install greasemonkey.

Yes, if you have Firefox, anything is possible.

Managed to eventually get it running on Firefox. :D

Bit weird using Firefox though as I've always used Safari. :?

I gave creammonkey a whirl back in like december and couldn't get it to work, so I shined it and downloaded firefox and have actually come to like it better than safari in some respects.

Then again, I'm basically the antithesis of the technological wizard, so I might have done something really moronic to prevent cream from working.
