Hey All,
If I am in a team (doubles or triples) and my team jointly captures a continent, let's say South America, who gets the bonus armies? And when does the bonus armies occur?
Thanks,
Jadlak

One person has to have all of the continent for there to be a bonus.

Welcome to our friendly community Jadlak....actually you cant jointly occupy a continent and get the bonus, it has to be held by a single player only. The bonus armies occur at the begining of the players turn.

Ouchies... that kinda sucks... Is there any way for players to abdicate their territories?
Thanks all for your prompt replies.

teammates can attack each other??! the rules of this game gets stranger & stranger.
Note: If the writers of the game would like me to update their code so a new version of this game where those 2 above rules are fixed I'd be happy to donate my coding skills. These are how I would code the new rules to work.
1) Teammates cannot attack each other.
2) Continents owned by a team will provide army bonuses to that team.
2b) The army bonus will be provided to the first team player at the start of each round.

Yup you can also deploy on your teammate in the begining. As well when forting you can transfer armies from you to a partner depending on wether it is adj/unlim/chain .....It is a very important tool of team play.

Sub - If you ask me it's a very broken version of 'team' where you need to attack your own teammate in order to occupy a continent.
But now that I understand the rules and how they are I will play accordingly.

Well I have to disagree.....think about it your partner can fort you the majority of his armies from a country you then in turn take it and voilla you own it...he can then protect borders etc....takes the pressure off....i checked out your doubles game and you will be beaten badly ( sorry ) anyways good luck . Any questions there are alot of decent team players around always willing to help out usually.

Online teammates help win games. Also an understanding of the rules would too. I thought that because the 'team' owned the continent we would get bonus armies. Unfortunately not. I think I'll be sticking to single player games for the moment.

i find team games to be extremely satisfying and fun. fortifying your teammate to win is pretty fun and it gives a whole new aspect to the game.

I agree that team games should/can be fun. I just think that attacking your team-mate seems... wrong.

haha, true, but it ends up that you only take a territory of 1. but i still understand your point.

Well. Keep your enemies close, but your friends closer...

if you cant attack your teammate then you cant go for the kill in some games if your teammates troops are in the way, that would be silly

Actually, once you get into the team games, they are fun. Just find a reliable partner you can work with, that's the most important thing. Once you get a hang of it, it's cool.
And just pm me if you want some real opposition in doubles or triples...

Anyway... back to the topic.

I agree on this point partially. Which is my biggest stumbling block as to how I would implement a 'better' team game when I play this game offline. I still feel that attacking teammates goes against the whole concept of a teammate and should be worked around with a better rules solution.

Strategy, babe. Strategy.
Communication.
Play enough games with your partners where you two learn each others styles.

I have had esc games where the only way I won was by killing my partner for the cards and cashing those in.
I love the rules as they are! You sometimes attack a partner to hold a con. you weaken your self to make you stronger! beautiful.
It just takes time, effort, and a real team player to win!
I love doubles games!
Hit me up if you ever want to play one with/against me.

I am new to playing team games myself. 99% of my games have always been singles until recently when I mouthed off in some forum and someone challenged me to a doubles game. What did I get myself into? Ouch! I don't know how to play team games so I'll probably make a fool of myself. I found a good partner and we accepted the challenge and won the game. Yes!! We are now in the middle of a rematch and it's looking good so far.
In the beginning I didn't think I would enjoy a doubles game, but I do. I guess now I have to find some players that will play as my partner.

Hey all. So a bit off the topic but still a newbie question. Can you somehow watch games you aren't involved in or see old game replays? Trying to get the hang of this and think that would help alot.
