you are playing a game with fog, if you are not next to the region you can't see who's there.

If you're playing a fog game, you can only see armies/players directly next to your territories, the rest will be ?, meaning the player/amounts are unknown.

I see that 3 out of your 4 games are fog of war. Fog is fun, but you may prefer "sunny" until you learn a few maps. I too stumbled into fog games when I first started suing CC and I also didn't understand why there were ?s.
