For instance, will the "Berlin" card always be green?

actually that's a good question. i've always wondered if a given territory is always the same colour and I do think so.. if anyone could confirm..

The colors are random. The game system randomly picks a card from those that are available, randomly picks a color, and then posts them to your game.

Thanks for the answer.
I just played 2 games on doodle earth and thought that had I knew the colours/territoriy link, it would have had a huge strategic consequence.
Maybe it's worth making a suggestion?

You can make a suggestion, but it won't be done. Currently, the code just has to use the XML (the code for all the maps) to randomly pick a territory and then matches it with a randomly chosen color. With your suggestion, lack would have to build a database for every map that stores the card-color pair and calls from it. That's a lot of unnecessary storage space for the site when the current method works well.

I find it looks at my existing cards and then chooses the worst possible colour it can...any colour that doesn't make a set...and then it begrudgingly gives me a red set when I have 5 cards...I thought that was how it worked? ;)

you forgot the part about avoiding your own countries except in nuclear.
