Die

"Die" is singular. "Dice" is plural. Is that common knowledge? It doesn't seem like that to me, but then people don't talk about a single "die" that often.
I mean, under what circumstances would you hear someone complaining about how one die is not living up to the standard of their other TWO dice
It is much more likely to hear someone saying something like "you got some lucky dices, uh blue?" or "Grrr.. the dices are killing me this round."
