missed turns, territories changed

If someone misses a turn, and then before his next turn he loses some territories, how is his army entitlement calculated?
For instance:
Player A: normal turn
Player B: misses, should have got 12 armies
Player A: normal turn, takes a few of B's territories
Player B: ????? (currently should get 6 armies)
Does player B receive 12 plus 6? Or 6 plus 6? I haven't been able to find this information anywhere else...

I believe the player would receive 6 + 6, or 12 total.
I say that because it would be much easier for the game engine to calculate it that way as it wouldn't have to "remember" the player's holdings from a previous turn.

tahiti is right:
The armies are calculated for
current entitlement and then either doubled or tripled depending on one or two turns skipped.
Any cards are then added on top of that.

Which is why, by the way, is another reason you want to attack a player who is missing turns. Break his continent bonus and you're taking it away for multiple turns (perhaps even retrospectively). Same thing with conquering his countries to reduce his bonus for countries held.
This multiplier effect makes your attacks worth more. It really should be open season on players who miss turns. Because if and when they do come backs with their missed turn bonuses they can do a lot of damage to the other players. The double and triple allotment they receive is hard to defend against. This is a true case of offense being the best defense.

Absolutely could not agree more!
When considering my move, if a player has missed a turn, plan A = "how can I hurt THAT player!"
and "can I convince everyone else to do the same!"
