How should inappropriate ratings be handled

Hi all,

I have one bad rating, which i would rather not have. It was given to me by a person infamous for giving bad ratings and being abusive. I predicted in the game I would get a bad rating as the person started to get upset when I attacked them and the game started to go down hill as I got called everything from cheater to having double accounts etc.

I don't want this rating, I don't deserve this rating and this rating totally fails to meet the standards and rules set by CC for ratings.

Now I can live with having a bad rating, it is slowly getting buried by my good ones but this person has a history of spoiling a clean record for lots of people and enjoys collecting negative comments as a sort of weird hobby.

Is there a way to ask for adjudication on a rating or is it possible to get people who ruin the system for others banned or have their ratings privelges revoked?

I had posted my my concerns before I got rated. I posted my concerns after I got rated. Now I am trying again. Any help anyone?

Cheers,

I think one bad rating amoungst several good ones is not a big deal. You ask what should be done about bad ratings? Nothing. Everyone has got to understand that there will be jerks out there that give more bad ratings than they should. If everyone understands that one or two bad ratings amoungst several good ones does not mean too much, then it really doesn't matter. How many times have you avoided a player with 60 positive ratings and one bad one? The rating system should not be changed.

also...the bad one is what gets the other people to read your feedback in the first place...so its not that bad...

I'm with wicked on this. (But then I'd like to be with wicked on a lot of things  )

The comment you are referring to hasn't broken any guidelines IMO and is relatively clean.

Just let it slide and prove it wrong by winning a few no card games.

The negative f/back attracts people to view your feedback! And the current system of asking for mod review seems fine to me also.
(The option for 'Leave it alone' isn't available in your poll I notice!)

It's a clean feedback, it refers only verifiable (more or less) facts in the game (when's that improved game log coming so we can replay them turn by turn?), I don't think you can get that removed.

He he he...

AAFitz and his partner stole mine and steelplayin's points. How you might ask? 1. Because we had bad dice. 2. Because Im color blind and they didnt spot me any countries. 3. Because my partner dont know how to play. Some may say its because we got out played but I cannot accept that. Some may say they played as a team better than me and that so called partner of mine, but that cant be true either. Hello everyone this is The Great Kahns wife please forgive his inablity to accept loseing. The poor man has lost three nights of sleep over this one silly game. I think he would kill himself if he lost more than he dose. Oh and btw that Clown he has for a partner is his son so if he cant play its The Great Kahns fault for not teacheing him any better. Again forgive his ranting.

Classic!!

People complain about receiving a negative rating that they don't feel is merited. I don't give a toss about feedback for myself, but honestly, I've seen some really sucky players with lots of positive feedback claiming that the player is good, when they actually suck.

If all feedback that is not merited is deleted, there would be a helluva lot more positives deleted than negatives.

I only give negative feedback to deadbeats. Is this warranted? It really gets to me when I have to wait for the same player for 24 hrs 3 days in a row. I think it should be noted.

Mostly the CC spirit / ethos ....

Please note I am not complaining just about my feedback. Having seen the person in question ruin good feed back for others I phrased my post to address the overall issue. Also if you are a noob in the system, getting negative feed back can make it hard to get into games for a while.

What guidelines?
* Liefe-a unly ffeur und ffectooel cummeets tet rilete-a tu e spiceeffeec gemi.
The reply was not particularly factual. It was abusive of me as a person rather than of my game in particular. This person normally attacks a person and not their game.

* Du nut liefe-a ffiidbeck ffur treefeeel teengs leeke-a meesseeng e toorn.
Trivial things ... I don't see the negative feed back being for things such as breaking a truce, missing a turn, using double accounts, me abusing any body? It is purely this persons sick and twisted style to abuse people.

* Du nut oose-a ffuool lungooegi.

In my country a nob is a sexual organ. This persons feed back is often gratuitous and rude.

I could go on but the guy isn't worth it. However, in general the sort of behaviour displayed by this person ruins many a persons feed back ratings, is rude, unpleasant and not the kind of behaviour that makes for a good atmosphere in a club.

People say let it go .. however, why does the club have rules and expectations? Should we let them go or expect them to be upheld? I can take on the chin more than the person in question can dish out. However there are others it probably affects and hurts, especially younger members.

All I am asking is that people be expected to stick to a modicum of behaviour consistent with the ethos and expectations of the club. Also dealing with unfair feedback is something that maybe should be addressed and maybe a system set up so that it is not dumped on the shoulders of a few over worked people.

I notice there have been a few posts of people trying to set up lists of people who are not good to pay with, cheaters, abusers etc. I get the feeling there is a dissatisfaction with certain members and people are beginning to ask if there is something that can be done about them.

Just a thought.
