AUTO-ATTACK IS NOT RANDOM!

In some of the games I'm playing at the moment I am losing pretty badly due to the same teammate deadbeating. I know that to have any chance of victory, I need to go all out attack.

So, a few examples of what has happened good with auto-attack:
Won 9 against 13 and 6 against 10 - possible but unlikely to do it 2 turns in a row.

So, a few example of what has happened bad with auto-attack:
Lost 11 against 3, 8 against 1 and 17 against 3. This is highly improbable, especially since it happened 3 turns in a row!

I know I should just ignore the button but I can't be bothered having to wait so long to kill the armies by ordinary attack!

All I'm saying is that the dice definitely streak with auto-attack

In theory the "auto-attack" option is as random as doing the regular attacks.

That's all I got to say really. Because I won't defend the auo-atatck option, having had bad experiences with it myself.

I don't think the problem is in the option itself though, the problem is likely to be rooted in statistical rules in combination with the program the dice runs on.

But, to be fair. One only reacts to this when one looses badly. Many times when using the regular attack options, one encouners a sour round or two. But then it's not as obvious.

Does anyone here who complains about that the dices are not random have any knowledge of software development? Im not so good at php, but one would assume that in php there is a random function which the developer can use to generate random numbers. One would also assume that lackattack with the creation of this site has to have pretty good knowledge about php.

And if lackattack is so good he managed to create this site Im sure that his not that stupid that he would try and create an own random function.

So what do we have.
1. We have lackattack, probably using rand(1,6) (had to google syntax :roll: ).
2. We have a bunch with other gamingsites using the same function.
3. We have an even bigger bunch of whiners here.

And what should we do? My suggestion is for all of the whiners to create accounts at all other sites using php for games and in their forums tell the players that their game isnt random. It should take some time and in the meanwhile, we who are satisfied with the outcome of the dices, and can accept a badbeat or two can do so without any whine. 8)

Random doesn't necessarily mean fair. If you hit a bad "streak" in the dice, I suggest stopping.

True. Random does not mean consequent. It does indeed include good streaks as well as bad streaks.

Overall though, if random, the dice outcome will during thousands of throws move closer towards the theoretical statistical outcome. if not because of something else, due to the fact that if one throws ten throws each throw will acount for 10% of the total, and if one throws a thousand throws, each throw will account for 0.1% of the total. Flukes matter less and less the more data one has.

I've said it before, but it may be said again: The only sure and proven way to influence the dice is to sacrifice goats before throwing them.

My girlfriend has a cat, but i guess it could work as well. If I sacrifice the cat, my girlfreind will leave me.... which will mean me having bad luck in love, giving me good luck in games :lol:

I used to only use auto attack in the beginning, then i realized there are times when it is better to go ahead and stop. I never saw a difference.

I lost huge numbers, but I also won huge numbers. I wouldn't mind if the auto
attack was set to stop at 5. But I like it fine enough to not complain about it!

wats interesting though is that in theory every dice roll is total independent. could be my imagination but if u lose 3 attacks against a 1 then roll 2 more they seem to be bad ones as well, almost as though there is a bad streak in the dice sheets.

anyway enough conspiracy theories. random dice are random its just a real pain sometimes. i've pretty much stopped using auto attack.

Depending on the code, "random" doesn't even have to be random. I remember a co-worker using the most basic random function for a chat roomdice roller. Things looked pretty good until I was in the chat room and rolled a series of four sided dice for fun.

I got 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4

Apparently that was how the function was designed. It never guareteed randomness when divided by 4. Random functions that work real nice as whole numbers can sometimes do annoything things when truncated for dice functions. We rewrote the code to use a more advanced random function and everything was ok.

P.S. the D2 was even funnier 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2

thing is that a simple 1,2,3,4,5,6 would be alright on this site because so many people are rolling at the same time you wouldn't ever notice it is that. maybe that is actually wat the dice do?

Thats my plan too, in atleast 98% of my rolls. Why stop and give the defender the odds of the attacker. Its just against chickens it sometimes can pay off to stop rolling :wink:

Why the hell would u want to go auto attack if u r attacking 8 vs 1????
auto- attack r b/s i agree with u but i bet u would hva ethe same result if u would go regular attack...so if u r a lazy ass like me ofcourse u will keep on hitting that auto-attack cuz its soooooooooooooooo ADDICTING 8) :lol:

When I was trying to finish all my games quickly before I went on vacation, I used the AA exclusively.... and ended up losing all my games. Score plummeted from swords to stripes... lol!!

Exactly what I mean!

Thanks for all the responses about randomness of dice but I did say in my title "I don't care" - I was just really pissed off and wanted everyone to know about it!

Anyway, I must try sacrificing something - I've got a dog? (and also 3 brothers :lol: )
