Anyone has map explainations for me in petto?

Poison Rome is just one of the many examples, what do I have to do?
Its so confusing!
And I am new here!

That map is genuinely so confusing that I can't even really begin to answer your question without making things more complicated.

Start/join a game on any of almost 200 maps and don't let it put you off.

Well, here's a few suggestions:

1. For at least a few weeks (first 30 or 40 games) stick with basic maps. Asia, Usa, France, Disc world (that's right everyone I said disc world) Indochina, and so on. Even classic you should avoid as it is now what we call a rail map.

2. One of my add-ons (not sure which) allows me to put the cursor over a territory and see what it attacks. This is what I use for those types of maps. It's either Ajax Bob or Clickable Maps. Here's what you need:

a. Use firefox when playing cc.
b. Install "greasemonkey" this allows you to use the addons. (you can google this)
c. Install Ajax Bob. Addons can be found here http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=527
I guess BOB 5.16 is the latest version
d. Install clickable maps too, same place
I'm not sure which one does it, and if you have to play with the options, but after all this you should be able to put your cursor on top of a territ and see what it attacks, what it bombards, what bombards it, one-way attacks and so on.

Those are neutrals, and yes you can attack them. They won't bite.
