If you look at the map you will notice there's a fair bit of text on the right side of it. Also the following line: "Any dock can attack any other dock."

The docks might escape one's notice... they're not labelled.

The docks are the little wooden things sticking out into the water... look almost like crosses.

they are the red ones on the borders of all areas with the wodeen bits of them. apart from the sanctuary any of the outside red areas can attack any dock . but do not leave any troups on them areas round the santuary because they lose troups every turn.

Remember you have to pay the toll, and definitely refuse to marry the boatman's daughter. It's not worth it.

AoR is not my favorite map... tho it has sweet graphics and tons of alternative maps... have fun!
