I couldn't find this anywhere, so i hope this question is redundant.
I just played two 2 player games against the same opponent and on the same map. The games went to nearly the same number of rounds. In the one game the winner got 17 and in the other he got 25. Just wondering how the points are calculated.

http://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=instructions4but don't worry about it. points are not relevant at all. many players with lots of points are in fact noob farmers or team abusers that will prove to be very poor players when placed on a random map with random rules vs random opponents.

I am more wondering how i can get more points out of each game, not by cheap tactics but for example having unused cards (or using them earlier if that is beneficial etc).

If I understand that page correctly, the amount of points you get is based on who you are playing and not how you play?

when it comes to scoring it doesn't matter how you play. it only matters who you beat. the higher the rank of the person you beat the more points you gain.
try to play high ranks if you're good. you'll get more points when you win and lose less points when you're defeated.

Also multiplayer wins offer more points per win than a 1 vs 1.

Team games also help in the sense that while bad dice can screw you ove in one turn in a 1v1 (especially on some maps), one bad turn on a team game isn't the end by any means, which helps compensate and lets you win more games but like ljex said at lower odds
