Load time issues!

I've said this time and time again. The time it takes to load a web page on cc is ridiculous. I'm done, had enough of banging my head against this. There is no valid reason for it, none whatsoever.
Go on tell us the website is being updated and it will be better next week until next time it needs to be updated.
WHY would someone pay for a premium membership? WHY? It's irritating enough to play a few turns let alone 20 or 30 OR 40!! Regardless of how little the cost is, i wouldn't throw money away on purpose.
I will be returning to play one game because i am really enjoying it, to the rest my apologies.

I understand your anger. I have been rather pissed off with the speed of the site at times recently but I still find everything else good enough to keep coming back. I generally find that if you keep stabbing at the button the next page will come up.
Seriously though - don't you think you are overreacting a tad too much

I don't know what's wrong with ur internets, but I never have a slow CC, unless I'm using up internet space for something else that's really big

CC is slow rarely enough for me that I'm often surprised to find it that way when it is.
I think you're an overreacting piss-ant who needs to shut up.

How slow is it? Go to page ten of the "Spam here" thread (its somewhere in the Social Lounge) Tell me if your computer is faster or slower?
Edit: Here it is:
Go to page 10

no, the site would be great if the load time was reasonable. I don't find it reasonable.

I don't find it a problem.. Perhaps it's your internet connection specifically..

Are you using IE?
Sometimes it slowed down when I used IE. That's why I switched to Firefox.

You're at least right about one thing. I'll probably never buy windows again. It's atrocious and IE, well i won't comment. Over the last while it has become worse and worse and worse a bit like cc in some respects. Just take a look at the performance of IE, it eats up more and more memory every month, gets slower and slower, sure the features that are added are great but are they really worth the sacrifice of performance? I don't think so.
I use Firefox too and yes it's faster than IE but still slow on cc.

gerry22, it depends on when you play. I took a turn yesterday (Monday) at 5pm and indeed it was unreasonably slow. But that is the peak day and the peak hour and 989 members were online. Most other times the game performs reasonably.
The server always becomes overloaded sooner than I expect. I'll look into the performance issue once again next week.

Maybe its time for that redesign lack. Use javascripts to refresh the page, makes things much better.

Using AJAX to update pages without reloading would probably help.

Thanks - I'll just go uninstall it now. I-tunes does the job so much better anyway

Sorry man, I'm done. I've been stung by this far too many times.
One of a few previous posts about average page load time being over 1minute 30 secs. This was no exaggeration, i timed it.

It hasn't been as bad as that since the new server but sometimes very close and i'd wage money it will get just as bad if not worse than it was.

An AJAX interface is one of my goals for 2007.
