It's not your fault directly, but the differences you're recognising right now highlight why Asia as a whole will be such a superpower.
I sure as hell wouldn't have considered taking time off of CC to study when I was 12. In my country, you don't need to start studying until the age of ~16 to get good grades these days. We have a crappy high school education system, and the only way not to actually make it through without recognised qualifications is to pull a no-show on exam day. Of course there's competition in our country, very much so as you progress up the educational ladder. MY POINT BEING, there's more competition for good lives in much of Asia, and you really have to work for it. More so in America than Britain, I'm also sure.
