Slow tag on speed games

I play speed games, and I want them to be downright speedy. I think it's rude to take more than 1 minute to begin your turn - by all means, take all 5 minutes to actually make your moves and your fortifications, but it's irritating to have a speed game take 3x the time because I'm waiting 2-3 minutes for someone to even start their turn. I have premium, so if I wanted to wait all day for someone to take a turn I'd just join a casual game, but I play speed games because I want to play an entire game in one sitting.
Is it legal and/or socially acceptable to give someone a lower rating and the slow tag if they continuously take 2+ minutes to begin their turn?

well, you can certainly tag them slow, thats your opinion of the player.
however, i think waiting a couple minutes is fine. sometimes i join a couple games and i cant play turns quickly. i mean, its 5 minutes either way, is that really too long?

If you're in a speed game with 3 other people, and it's going to go 20 rounds, and each player is taking 2 minutes to start... that's 2 extra hours added to whatever the normal game time would be. Yeah, that's a big deal.

I usually start "speed" games by going to chat and asking for an rt, and the person I play usually is very prompt about taking their turns, and the game usually finishes pretty quickly. I don't know how the other speed games work exactly, but that's how freemium style RT works.

You know what, in the future I should go into chat and find someone who shares my philosophy on speed games instead of just joining one posted without establishing that I want the turns to go fast.

It would help. Maybe you'd get lucky and find another premium there who would like to play speed games quickly.

I'm down for playing non-speed speed games with freemiums as well.

Dibbun, some premium players come to live chat to ask for people interested in speed games for that same reason. It might very well work for you

Hey, dibbun, how long are you going to be online? I've got a free spot right now, and I can play a quick game. Just send me an invite

Keep in mind, that some of us run 6 speed games at a time. Since 5 min is allocated to take the turn, you should temper your expectations to the parameters of the format you have choosen. You will be killed promptly in rotation.
