What does it mean to deadbeat and is it against the rules?

not playing when it's your turn (so within 24 hrs in normal games, 5mins in speed games).
A deadbeat is usually a player that misses 3 consecutive turns like that.

It's not against the rules by itself, but is often part of something that is (for instance, intentionally throwing games by intentionally deadbeating.)

I saw the game you got the rating from, you may not have deserved the Deadbeat tag, you may have deserved the rating and other tags based on Holding him as a Hostage.
