Abusing the Multiply Army Bonus

I know the first thing you guys are going to say is "What a fucking noob!". But please don't. Wait before you say that. Observe game log in this game: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=264461

Me and my partner still had a smiggle of a chance because we THOUGHT the other guys partner was deadbeating. But then, right before he was considered a deadbeater.... WHAM! He uses the multi army bonus to wham through my [artner and I, tearing us limb from limb, destroying us putright, eating with his sharp pointy teeth, stabbing us with... well... you get the point.

We should do something to get rid of stuff like this from happening. It would make the game more fun.

Deal with it

You guys didnt attack him once after he started missing turns. You know that if he came back he would get the army bonus, but you didn't do anything to protect against it like attacking him. I'm not saying it's your fault, but you really shouldnt whine about it since you didn't try to prevent it.

And, in the next update there should be a fix for this, as we have mentioned several times already in various threads.

I just want to add, that in this particular case Red had a total bonus of 4 armies added to him due to missed turns (thanks to irradiated territories). What really got you was his 10 cards set. So next time whine when you have a good reason to.

It is your duty to attack the dead beat. If you failed to do so becuse you "thought" he was a deadbeat, and wouldn't do anything, it is your fault mate. It happens.

It has happened to me before and the only person I can blame is myself. Take responsibility and be proactive in the future. Avoid making the mistake again! Thats all i can tell you mate.

it happens. now that you know, you can change your strategy accordingly
I understand how doing it intentionally could give an advantage, and I think giving an option to change this rule when creating your own game would be cool.

Just had my first experience with someone utilizing this in a freestyle game; seems odd the missing person would be able to go first in the next round, even though they were last in the one before. I'd definitely guess that'll be one of the things changed in the anticipated update. However, the impact it had on the gameplay was only mildly annoying; sure, the guy got a few free armies, but he also cashed in a bunch of cards, so it's hard to blame my misfortune solely on his sneakiness. It was more annoying that he dragged what had been a fast-moving game out for 24 bloody hours just to get a troop boost.

it is annoying, and perhaps even sneaky...but the info is all right there for you...if you think someone is going to do this...all you have to do is act accordingly

always plan for a deadbeaters return....well...almost always....i discount them if they only started 4 games and are deadbeating in other games...but the info is all there...you just have to put some time into getting it

In my case, it came from a rather experienced player here, and one with largely positive feedback to boot. I guess either he uses this tactic rarely or some people aren't too bothered by it, but whatever the case it did take me by surprise.

for the sake of my ignore list, could you name the name?

Since we are on the topic about missing turns, what about missing turns purposely? Some would call it strategy, others would call it a screw job.

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=271220

Our opponents purposely missed a turn, so that they could get a couple extra armies and take out the last player on my team (get into his continents, etc). They logged in a minute after they "missed a turn." That is very unsportsmanlike, and is worthy of negative feedback in my opinion. Am I correct?

Thats why I play sequential games.

If I was a premium member, I'd play more sequential games. But because I'm limited to 4 games, sequential games take too long...

Anyone who misses turns on purpose for strategy is a pretty low, selfish wanker.

anybody who plays along with family in games and shooses not to announce that little fact is a wanker too...

I have to complement you on finding your high moral horse and berate others on how to keep the site clean. If only you would keep your language and actions as clean. That would be a treat.
