I have looked in the FAQ etc but am not finding any clear guidance. I have an young teen who would like to play with own new account. As such, we would be coming in from the same computer and subnet. If we then choose to play any games together, would announcing the relationship in the game chat be sufficient to keep from be identified as Multi?
Please advise or route me to the right place to review.

Put in an eticket or a PM to the C&A team letting them know, so you will get the benefit of the doubt instead of looking like multis. It's strongly advised that you only play on the same team in games, not against each other in team games or standard games to ensure that nobody thinks there is anything improper going on.

me and my bro have played this site for awhile. you can play from the same computer, we've also played against each other in games. if you have an alliance just post your thoughts in the game.

About the rules
15. Can more than one person play from the same computer?
The short answer is yes. Our Multi Hunters are pretty good at distinguishing roommates & family members from people with multiple accounts. However, some members prefer playing only in team games with people from the same computer to avoid accusations of cheating.
16. Can I make an alliance or truce with another player?
Yes, but you must conduct all diplomacy in the in game chat.
As Jakewilliams wrote is it wise to play teamgames together and try to refrain from playing to many (non team) games together. Multi hunters can see quite a bit and claim to be able to detect 2 accounts or one multi. It is adviced NOT to play under the name of the teen though, he must play his own games, but in any game you are no part off you can feel free to give advice.
