Has anyone here played the Middle Earth on Lord of the rings risk? On it they incorporate strongholds which give a bonus +1 to the defenders die when they are on it. Just wondered what people thought of this and if it might get added at some point.
Just my 2 cents but if i'm standing in a castle/bunker (based on time period) i would have better odds of living another day then getting caught with my pants around my ankles in a hayfield with the milkmaid.

if you put strongholds then add commanders (+1 to the attacker's dice)

Make a map where you incorporate it.

Can't change or give bonuses to the dice I'm afraid (to save you cluttering the foundry). Has to work within the current game mechanics.

How about the stronghold gives you 1 more man for it and every turn that man is added onto the stronghold.
So say its round 1 and you have 3 on Rivendell. No one attacks rivendell. Its round 2 and now rivendell has 4.
Would that work ?

You can give a +1 bonus to rivendell, but it adds to your deployable armies, not rivendell. The only way you can force armies to a particular territorry is through cards.

its a problem. u can't rite the xml or watever to get it to do that sort of thing. a few people have wanted to do moving borders that change eg wen the tide is up or down but that can't be done. a shame really

Basic rule is that if it int in a map already it can't be done.

you could just play at Grand Strategy (
http://www.denizengames.com) where they use strongholds. they even have the map from the lord of the rings game.
