Can cards repeat, that is, in just a few turns not when they "deck" is used up?

It is actually possible for 2 people to hold the same card.
Think of Doodle Earth. It has 18 territories, so if you have 8 people with 5 cards each for a total of 40, you would have to have repeats

True, did not think of doodle earth. However, I was just playing a 2 player Saint Patrick's Day map and out of 6 or maybe 8 cards, got more than 2 that were the same. That seems a bit.. odd.

Yes, in fact two people can hold the same card simultaneously. I don't really understand why they've programmed it in that manner, to be honest, but there it is.

Ah, a good point regarding the ultra-small maps like Doodle Earth. That's why we should kill those off. <grin>

Can one person hold 2 of the same card? If so, what happens if they cash that card and they own that territory? Do they get 4 troops bonus instead of two?

thanks for the info woodruff - i wasn't aware that two people could hold the same territory card at the same time.
it is somewhat disconcerting, especially in nuclear games. i just finished one where i just sat on a terr. for a couple of turns because i had that card and figured i was safe (i had already had my stacks nuked twice that game).

This has happened to me on Doodle Earth before, except it was nuclear. It's a good question. I think that you'd get +4 though, why wouldn't you?

Huh, that's weird. To the best of my knowledge. It's not supposed to happen until the "deck" is completely used.

wow, there is a whole discussion previously on wether or not it was possible to get the same card twice in your hand.. we never thought about the +2 bonus for it..
I would like to see that happen...
who would play a doodle earth where one player cashes in 2 or more of the same country cards (no nuclear)?

It is very possible. Say for instance you cash in 'Chicago', 'Montreal' and 'Berlin'. At the end of the round, even when other cards haven't been passed out, it is possible someone (even you) gets one of those cards. The 'deck' is shuffled whenever a card is used.

This is NOT true, at least not complete. You can ONLY get a multiple of the same card if the map holds less then 40 countries.

I believe I am correct. Once a card has been used, it is possible you will receive the same card again before all others have been used.

You aren't mixing 2 things up here, are you? I am not saying you can have 2 same cards 'in play' at the same time (unless with a very small map and large number of players).
All I say is that when spoils are used ,they are shuffled right into the deck again. The deck is not depleted before reshuffling.
No proof

I asked for proof, but eh this is true.
All cards are “shuffled” each turn, so I could turn in Moskow at the start of my turn and receive Moscow as a spoil at the end of my turn.
Can you get multiple cards , in the same hand? Only if there are less then 41 countries.

Yes. Deck is reshuffled after each draw/cash so you can cash a card and get the same (though color might be different) right at the end of your turn. Also, on small maps, it is possible to get a second card in your hand with the same territory, the result will be +4 on that territory.

is there any example of the +4 or +6. I know some players who have had 3 of the same cards...

For a person to hold the card 2? If so, what would happen if they cash card and their own territory? They get bonus 4 units instead of two?
